Josh and I threw on some bling–the Blackest Night Lantern Rings, to be precise–for this week’s Wednesday New Releases. Featured this week is Chew #5, Sugarshock, Ex Machina #46, Cowboy Ninja Viking #1, the Spike Omnibus, B.P.R.D. The Black Goddess TPB, and the latest Blackest Night action figures. Have you seen Dark Horse Comics’ One-Shot Wonders? This fall, Dark Horse Comics is releasing nine one-shots featuring your favorite titles and creators, including Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Hellboy, and Star Wars. Each title contains a complete story, and each features awesome artists and writers, making this a very special collection of comics.

Here are the salient details of each comic:

October:
• Abe Sapien, written by Mike Mignola and John Arcudi, with art by Patric Reynolds.
• Star Wars: Invasion #0, collecting material previously available only online at StarWars.com.
• Sugarshock, by Joss Whedon and Fábio Moon, with 14 bonus pages of art!

November
• Dr. Horrible, written by Zack Whedon, with art by Joëlle Jones.
• Star Wars: Purge–Seconds to Die, by John Ostrander and Jim Hall.
• The Goon, by the incomparable Eric Powell.

December
• Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Willow, by Joss Whedon and Karl Moline, the team from Fray!
• Conan: The Weight of the Crown, written and drawn by Darick Robertson from The Boys and Transmetropolitan.
• Hellboy: The Bride of Hell, by Mike Mignola and Richard Corben, who also teamed up on the Eisner-winning The Crooked Man!
