Jonah Hex begins filming April 13, comes to theaters in 2010
Warner Bros Studios has just released Watchmen in theaters and so far reviews are mixed but their comic book to movie eforts don’t end with Watchmen.
Jonah Hex is the next treatment that will see the big screen. According to the wikipedia page, Josh Brolin is set to play Hex, while John Malkovich is set to play Turnbull.[5] It will be directed by Pixar animator Jimmy Hayward and written by Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor.
This is a live action adaptation and another dark and gritty tale. I wonder if the dark tones and stories Warner is putting out have something to do with their success, or lack thereof. Dark Knight worked with the right director at the helm, but so far reviews of Watchmen are mixed at best.
Will a dark western starting Josh Brolin fare better this time? We’ll have to wait and see.
